‘Inbox by Gmail’ app has always stayed for long years with new features and UI. Whereas, the normal Gmail app stays the same and simple. However, Gmail has been recently updated to a new UI and a lot more features what everyone expected for a long time. Now the Google company announced that the application will be closed by the end of March 2019.
Google is closing Inbox by Gmail next year
The Google company Product Manager, Matthew Izatt, said that “Inbox by Gmail app has been a great platform for experimenting with the new ideas and features like snoozing emails to later etc. But the new AI-powered Gmail experiences like the smart reply, nudges, and priority-based notifications can now help users to stay updated. The Inbox by Gmail was launched back in 2014 and after the four years of experiments, the company updated new Gmail in April 2018.”
According to Google, the native place of Inbox app is now taken by stock Gmail app. After the major update, it’s time to discontinue the service. However, the company assured that all the transitions will be available in the new Gmail app for easier to use. The new Gmail also features inbuilt Google Apps, tasks, reminders, calendar, to-do list etc. which can be useful to users.
