BlackBerry had made a comeback after some years last year when the company launched the DTEK50 and later the DTEK60 smartphones which were powered by Android. Earlier, the Blackberry smartphones were powered by BlackBerry OS which was the most dominant OS in the earlier times. BlackBerry was as dominant as Apple at one point of time but it didn’t change with changing times and received the fate of time. Now, BlackBerry is once again trying to gain it lost position in the US as well as international market.
BlackBerry has released an update via an OTA to the DTEK50 which brings the latest security patch released by Google on May 1 which is the May security patch. BlackBerry has also had a reputation in the past of being the most secure phone in the world and it was the most sold smartphone because of its security. This has been continued and BlackBerry is taking security on its phones very seriously by releasing latest security patches as soon as possible.
The new firmware update being pushed to BlackBerry DTEK50 brings May security patch and arrives as build number AAL135. The update weighs at only 100.5MB, meaning it is minor one, nevertheless highly recommended.
The DTEK50 is more of a mid-range device from BlackBerry which was launched last year in August minus the legacy qwerty keypad. It runs Android Marshmallow on board. The Android Nougat update on the DTEK50 is expected to be released soon but the good part is that the phone now has the latest security patch which is the more important thing as the security patches keep the phone as secure as possible to the latest security risks which are encountered everyday in Android. Keep an eye out for the update reaching your DTEK50 and install the update as soon as possible.
