While many of us still waiting for Android 9.0 Pie update to our Android smartphones, the Android Q development is in the process. The Google has officially announced Android Pie release a few months ago on August 6, 2018. Although most of the companies are developing and trying to roll-out the update to their eligible devices. So many latest and a few flagship devices are running on Android Oreo till now. The Android Pie brings so many improvements and new features to the users. Such as Digital Wellbeing, Swipe Gesture Navigation system, App Timer, App Slices, Recent UI, Notification Bar, and more. Now it’s time to talk about the upcoming Android Q (Android 10) version of Google.
As we all know that every year Google launch their new Android version with so many customizations and a unique name. The Android version names are released in an alphabetical series. The latest version named Android P and the ‘P’ word stand for Pie. So the upcoming version name will start with ‘Q’. But what will be the expected name starts with ‘Q’? Let’s check.
Android Q: Expected Name
Google mainly choose any of the popular dessert or sweet item name for the major Android versions. So, there are so many rumors and leaks about the proper name for Android 10 Q version as well. So, it will be quite interesting to see which name Google will pick for the Android Q. These are the possible expected names, such as:
- Quesadilla
- Quiche
- Quail
- Quinoa
- Qurabiya
- Quesito
- Quenelle
- Quaker
- Oats
- Quinoa Pudding
All of the names are belongs from sweet or dessert items. So, it will be quite easy for Google to choose a right and justified name in terms of the Android Q features and UI.
Android Q: Expected Release Date in 2019
According to the leaked reports and rumors, the Android Q expected announcement date in 2019 will be around May-August month. However, Google every year releases the Developers Preview build as a beta version to check the OS usability and feedback. So, it’s expected to release a Developers Preview somewhere between March-May month this year. Though Google hasn’t announced anything officially, based on the previous activities, we can definitely expect the mentioned time-frame.

- First Public Beta release on May 2019.
- First official Stable Roll-Out on August 2019.
Android Q: Expected Eligible Phones
The Android Q expected eligible devices will be the upcoming Sony, Google Pixel, Essential PH-2, Nokia, and some other devices for sure. The most important is that all the latest and upcoming Android One running devices will also be eligible to get the Android Q update. While the current Google Pixel, Essential PH-1, and some other newly launched flagship and mid-range devices will also get the upcoming update.
Now, most of the Android smartphones OEMs are capable of receiving the latest major Android updates quicker than before. Like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Nokia etc. Some of them provide beta releases as well. Still, you have to wait for the official announcement to get the latest updates in the future.

The following mentioned features could be expected from the upcoming Android Q. Please note that the following features aren’t officially announced yet by the Google itself.
