Even though Xiaomi is yet to release the Android 9.0 Pie update, even in the beta channel for the Xiaomi Mi A1, it hasn’t stopped the community from making Android 9.0 Pie based custom ROM’s for the device.
LineageOS 16, the Android 99.0 based iteration of the popular Android custom ROM, is also due to be released sometime by the end of this year. The team is hard at work bringing everything up to the marl. However, since LineageOS shares such a large community of developers, many of the unofficially linked with the development of the ROM, an unofficial LineageOS 16 ROM, based on Android 9.0 Pie for the Xiaomi Mi A1.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 was released by Xiaomi last year and was the first device from the company which ran a worth using OS, as instead of supporting their performance killing MIUI, the device came with stock Android as it was a part of the Google’s Android One program. It sported Snapdragon 625 Soc, 4GB of RAM and a dual camera set up at the back in an iPhone 7, inspired a layout.
The LineageOS for the abovementioned device has been ported by XDA Senior Member, abhishek987 and an XDA Recognized Developer flex1911. The ROM is currently in an experimental version, think of it as a developer preview, however, can be installed by anyone who wants to try out something new.
The ROM is based on a fully- functional 4.9 kernel port, which is also in the experimental phase. Along with it, the build contains a full, proper implementation of EAS implemented by Qualcomm for their Snapdragon 625 SoC.
Since the ROM is in the experimental phase, there are chances of devices getting bricked or certain features not working, so if you plan to flash your device with the ROM, it is completely at our discretion.
