Xiaomi launched one of the much-awaited smartphones in India called Poco F1 at an affordable price tag of Rs.20,999 onwards. The company mentioned that this smartphone is purely made for the competitive market at a lower price range but the specifications are true flagship grade. This one is the purely made in India product by Xiaomi with the sub-brand POCO (POCOPHONE) and due to this, the selling price is actually surprising.
Xiaomi this time focusing on the performance over specifications than the look and design. The Poco F1 comes with a bigger battery, flagship chipset with better RAM and storage, better camera, optimized MIUI and more.

Notable Things:
- The device features the liquid cooling technology that will release the extra heat during overload on the processor. The heat-coated polycarbonate body will also reduce the temperature of the device in external conditions.
- The device also comes with Armoured edition with a Kevlar back panel.
- The handset does have the 500nits of display brightness and a notch which can be removed via system settings.
MIUI For Poco – Overview
The Poco F1 comes with a newer version of MIUI, called MIUI for Poco. This custom ROM is currently running on MIUI 9 with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The device will soon get the Android 9.0 Pie update in Q4 2018. Xiaomi will also release the device kernel source on Github in this month. The new MIUI for Poco does have some customization options with a dedicated Poco Launcher and UI. The new app drawer, google search bar, recent apps, category apps with colors, hide apps, and custom icon support etc. all will be available in this ROM.
The Poco Launcher beta will be available on Google Play Store from August 29. This ROM also features faster and frequent Android updates and latest security patch upgrades than the regular MIUI. Xiaomi again notifies during the launch event that unlocking the bootloader won’t void the warranty of Poco F1.
Poco F1 Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi Poco F1 comes with a 6.18-inch Full HD+ an 18:9 aspect ratio display with 500nits brightness and Corning Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of onboard storage option. The storage can be expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card. The liquid cooling technology release the heat of the processor which will increase the device performance and battery life.
The handset sports a dual rear camera of a 12MP+5MP sensor at the back with a LED flash, features Dual Pixel technology, HDR, and real-time AI photography. On the other side, the front features a single 20MP of selfie camera with EIS, HDR, AI portrait support. It does have the infrared light sensor for Face Unlock in low light condition.
The Poco F1 is packed with a bigger 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It does have the connectivity options like USB Type-C port, 4G+ dual nano-SIM (hybrid), Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz/5Ghz, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, Bluetooth 5.0, supports AAC/aptX/aptX-HD/LDAC audio codec enhancement, a 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou etc. The device features some of the major sensors like Proximity, Gyro, E-Compass, Ambient Light, rear-mounted Fingerprint sensor, Vibration Motor, and Hall sensor.

Poco F1 Price and Availability in India
The Poco F1 measures 155.5mm×75.2mm×8.8mm and weighs 182g for the standard version. The device will be available in Steel Blue, Graphite Black, and Rosso Red color options. The Xiaomi Poco F1 priced at Rs.20,999 in India for the 6GB RAM+64GB model. While the 6GB RAM+128GB model priced at Rs.23,999. The upper version of the 8GB RAM+256GB storage model priced at Rs.28,999. The company launches the Armoured Edition model with 8GB RAM+256GB storage, which will be available at Rs.29,999. The handset will be available via Flipkart and Xiaomi India online store. The first sale will start on August 29 at 12:00 PM onwards.
The smartphone will be launched individually in other countries as well from August 27.
