HTC has been struggling with smartphone sales lately. Consequently, the company has decided to compete harder in mid-range segment and not completely concentrate on it’s flagship smartphones. A few days back the retail box of the HTC Desire 12 Plus was leaked, revealing some basic information. Now, a full list of specifications have leaked and we get a better idea as to what the device is going to look like.
The HTC Desire 12 Plus is codenamed “Breeze Plus” and will reportedly sport a 5.99-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1,440 X 720 pixels and a pixel density of 268 PPI. This will be an 18:9 panel with minimal bezels.
As for specs, the Desire 12 Plus is expected to sport the Snapdragon 450 SoC, which is an Octa-Core chipset clocked in at 1.8GHz. This will be coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage with support for microSD expansion. The smartphone will be fuelled by a 2,965mAh battery.
As for optics, the midrange smartphone will feature a 13MP rear camera backed up by an 8MP selfie shooter. HTC is said to include technology that will markedly improve low-light images.
HTC is cutting fewer corners this time around and has decided to go the Qualcomm way after choosing a MediaTek chipset with the Desire 12. As a result, the handset supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and given that the battery is not huge, the Desire 12 should charge up pretty fast.
HTC is really pushing hard with the Desire 12 Plus. Only time will tell whether the company will regain the market share it once enjoyed. Launch details are unknown at the moment.
