Moto Z Play has started getting Android 8.0 Oreo Soak Test 2 Update (OPN27.76-12-2): The last quarter of 2017 and the starting of 2018 were filed with news about new update for various devices from different manufacturers. Many manufacturers where able to provide fully stable Android Oreo updates for their device. But for some unknown reasons Motorola users were kept on a long wait. Although the Moto Z Play got an update on the month of January it was still on testing phase. New reports suggest that the testing of Oreo is done by Motorola on both Z series and G series devices.
Although the testing is still undergoing there have been no signs of official confirmation about updates from Motorola. This might be because they are not sure about the time they will take for testing. But what we have now is a new about another update for the same Moto Z play which got a soak test update in the month of January. But reports suggest that the new is again a soak test update and not a fully stable update.
The new soak test update is coming with a build number of OPN27.76-12-2. The one major change to be noted from the previous update is the addition of February security patch replacing the December patch which was available on the previous update. A few more improvements and enhancements in case of performance and camera can also be seen with the new update. A new Moto launcher will be added with the update as a replacement for the old Google launcher.. New icons, app dots, and a new pixel dialer is also added with the update.
