Google has finally launched the much-awaited payment application in India which was anticipated from a long time. This payment application from the company is the latest in the long list of payment applications in India like PayTM, PayU money, PhonePe and even the government-backed application like Bhim. The announcement of the launch of this app was made by the finance minister of India, Arun Jaitley. The app has launched as Google Tez where Tez means fast if translated from Hindi to English which means that the transactions will be fast and easy.
Now, we will let you know about some of the features of the Google payment app Tez. First of all, we would let you know that same as PhonePe and Bhim, the Google app, Tez also works on the UPI payment system which stands for Unified Payment Interface. Now, UPI is a system launched by the Government of India which links the mobile number of any user with the bank account. So, whenever a user enters his/her number in any UPI based application then the bank account linked with that number will automatically be added. The Tez app has a much better interface then Bhim app as is expected from Google and it has a toggle to swipe up for paying money and swiping down for receiving money.
Other features include splitting bills and paying nearby users without sharing bank details or phone number. There are various launch offers with this application like scratch cards and referral rewards. We would also like to mention that this application in our testing, this app did not work on a rooted device as it has SafetyNet enabled so if you are running a custom ROM which has inbuilt root then you will not be able to use this application.
