Xiaomi is gearing up to release the next generation of the popular Mi Mix smartphone which many consider as a phablet that was launched last year. It is said to be a direct competition to Samsung and Apple as their flagship smartphones are becoming larger and more like phablets. Mi Mix released last year received good reviews in terms of its design as it is the first smartphone from Xiaomi to have a bezel-less display and there was merely a slight bezel around the cut out of the camera. The design was also liked by its competitors and many opted to use the same style. Mi Mix was more of an experiment from Xiaomi to try to cater different group of users who are more into the high-end large smartphone and the experiment was successful.
Even Samsung seems to have copied the trending design of bezel—less display which was made popular by Mi Mix. Apple iPhone 8 and Google Pixel 2 XL are rumoured to walk the same path as Samsung and hence, you can say that Xiaomi has been the leader in setting this trend. You can expect Mi Mix 2 to be launched in the next Xiaomi event which is probably on 11th September as teased by the company.
Specifications Of Mi Mix 2
Though it is not confirmed there are strong rumours that it will sport 6.4-inch bezel less display and the resolution will be 2K which is 2960 x 1440 pixels. It is likely to have 835 SnapDragon processor though some sources suggest that it could well have the latest 836 processor which is yet to be launched. It will also have a dual camera on the rear side with 16 MP + 16 MP and the front camera would be 13 MP. Though it is still a rumour there is a high chance of 256 GB storage. The battery is going to be a massive 4400 mAh.
