Samsung has been rolling out the Android Nougat update to almost all of the devices in its lineup. Now, most of the Samsung flagship series like the S series, Note series, as well as A Series and J Series, has now received the Android Nougat update. Now, there is the latest addition to the devices receiving the Android Nougat update. The Samsung Galaxy J5, as well as J7, have now started receiving the update via Samsung Experience firmware upgrade which bumps up the version to Android 7.0 Nougat. Along with the Nougat update, the devices will also have the latest security patch after the installation.
Now, one thing to note is the Samsung Galaxy J5 & J7 devices will still be limited to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in terms of TouchWiz UI but the Samsung Experience firmware has been upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat. The Galaxy J5 devices are receiving the update as firmware version J530FXXU1AQF4, J530FXXU1AQF5, J530FXXU1AQF6 whereas the J7 devices are receiving the update with firmware version J730FXXU1AQF4 and J730FXXU1AQF6. Talking about the changes, the update integrates the latest June 2017 Android security patch level and all the Nougat goodies. Samsung has made the new UX modern, materialistic, and simple.
As far as the update is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy J5, as well as J7 devices, will receive the update as an OTA and the update is coming to various regions so the update may come to your device very soon. However, your device may have not yet received the update but if you want to check for the update manually then you can check for updates by going to your device’s settings to check for updates. Also, make sure to download the update and install it if it is already available for your device.
