Nubia Red Magic 3 has officially unveiled in China. It’s the third-generation Red Magic gaming smartphone by Nubia only for the gamers. The new Nubia Red Magic 3 (NX629J) is almost identical to the previous generation Red Magic 2 design. It sports a metal body with a diamond-cut texture and the 3.5mm audio jack. This smartphone will take the competition to the Xiaomi Blackshark 3 device.
Some of the new features like 90Hz display refresh rate, built-in cooling fans, etc will come in handy for the enhanced gaming experience. The handset also supports the F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) which will be faster than the typical file system available on any Android smartphones.
Nubia Red Magic 3 Specifications and Features
The handset comes with a 6.65-inch AMOLED HDR Full HD+ display resolution with the 90Hz display refresh rate. The device is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with Adreno 640 GPU and Kryo 485 CPU. It packs a 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM with up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage.
The Nubia Red Magic 3 sports a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 1.6µm pixels, f/1.7 aperture. The front features a single 16MP selfie camera with 2.0µm pixels, f/2.0 aperture. The handset is also capable of 8K video recording and 1920 fps super ultra slow motion videos.
The device runs on RedMagic OS 2.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. The stereo speakers with DTS 7.1 surround sound also supported with three microphones for noise cancellation and 4D haptic feedback. The device packs a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. The first ever smartphone by Nubia that comes with a built-in cooling fan for temperature control.
It also features a 5G mod connector pins with add-on dock which offers LAN port. A 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port are available in terms of the connectivity. It includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4Ghz + 5GHz), NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, A-GPS, etc. All the major sensors are available along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Nubia Red Magic 3 Price and Availability
The starting 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2899 (approx Rs. 31,000). There 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 3199 (approx Rs. 33,200). The handset also comes in 8GB +128GB and 12GB + 256GB storage variants are priced at CNY 3499 (approx Rs. 36,290) and CNY 4299 (approx Rs. 44,590) expectedly. The pre-orders started in China and will be out for sale through the Nubia Red Magic website and JD.com from May 3rd, 2019.
