ZTE has released a new update to the last year’s ZTE Maven which was released by the company. The ZTE brand is the sub-brand or the child brand of Nubia brand. The ZTE Maven which is receiving an update is said to be only on Android 5.1 Lollipop and the device has not yet been upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. We have already reported earlier that the ZTE Maven was receiving the March security patch from AT&T network and now, the company has skipped the April as well as May security patches and has been seeding out the June security patch which was released by Google recently to the ZTE Maven.
June security patch is being rolled out to the ZTE Maven currently as we speak. The new update raises the build number from Z812V1.0.0B24 to Z812V1.0.0B25. As you might have guessed, ZTE is sending security updates to Maven after every three months, so expect the next update to hit your device in September. The update, as usual, is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and measures 20MB. Since the device is a budget friendly phone, launched back in 2015, we don’t expect it will be updated to Android Marshmallow. As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.
As far as every update goes, it is always advisable to charge your phone sufficiently so that the update can be installed on your phone with no hiccups due to low battery as well as you can have a look at the installation final stage as there will be power left on the phone. Also, if you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
