Sony had released the Xperia XA1 as well as the XA1 Ultra last year. The company’s flagship smartphone for this year has already been launched as well which is the Xperia XZ Premium and the smartphone has already received the latest security patch. Now, it is time for these devices to get the taste of the latest security patch from the month of June. The company has released the update to both the devices as an OTA update
The update arrives as build number 40.0.A.5.66 for Xperia XA1, while Xperia XA1 Ultra gets 42.0.A.3.3. One thing to note is the exclusion of Android 7.1.1 Nougat from the update. The users of the latest devices, being launched this year, were expecting the latest version of Android to come to their devices in this update but that is not the case. However, apart from the obvious inclusion of the June security patch in this update, there have been some improvements to the device as well. The bugs that were present on the phone till now will be fixed and you should also notice performance and stability improvements from the update.
As far as the update goes, the OTA has been released by Sony to all the XA1 as well as XA1 Ultra devices around the world and your device should also receive the update soon. Also, if your device has received the update already then make sure to download the update on a stable connection and begin the installation process as soon as possible because the update is highly recommended for your device’s security as the June security patch is bundled in this OTA update.
