There have been many devices that have received the May security patch update recently. As a recap, the May security patch was released by Google at the start of this month and many devices started to receive the update after 10-12 days of its release. Some of the companies which have skins on top of stock android have been usually slow in giving the security patch updates. Among this companies are LG and Samsung who have LG UX and Samsung Touchwiz skins respectively. Now, we have come to know that both the companies are releasing the May security patch to some of their phones. This update however comes on the phones in the Verizon network in the U.S . Verizon is pushing an over-the-air update to a bunch of handsets which include Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, and the LG G Pad 10.1.
Arriving with the builds N910VVRS2CQD1, N915VVRS2CQE1, and VK70029A, the update installs the latest, i.e., May security patch on all the three handsets. Needless to say, the update brings with it several fixes to the existing issues alongside the usual performance improvements. In addition to the usual bug fixes, the security patch for Galaxy Note 4 fixes an issue surrounding email as well as updates the Amazon Shopping app.
Apart from the regular security patch update and the bug fixes, this update has some more to it. make sure the smartphone has at least, 60 – 70 percent charging left before installing the update. Also, try to switch to a Wi-Fi network prior to the beginning of installation process to avoid mobile data charges. As usual, it’s always recommended to backup your personal data which can come in handy should things get out of hand while installing the update. Also keep a lookout for the update to hit your device and make sure to install the update as soon as possible to your phone.
