The recent leaks and reports mentioned that Apple is now willing to re-launch the Fingerprint sensor. But this time we can expect an In-Display Fingerprint Scanner technology in upcoming iPhones.
Next-Gen iPhone to come with In-Display Fingerprint Scanner
Some of the sources claimed that Apple is currently evaluating and processing the biometric sensor suppliers. It’s highly expected that the next generation iPad will get this feature before the next generation iPhone. The sources mentioned that Apple is consulting with O-film, GIS, and TPK Holding companies for the fingerprint technology. Because these suppliers also supply Samsung’s high-end ‘ultrasonic’ in-display fingerprint scanning technology.

The reports also mentioned that the high-end ultrasonic sensors will be featured in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 next year. The ultrasonic fingerprint recognition is fast, accurate, and safer than other biometric technologies. So this can be turned out Apple’s next-gen TouchID expectedly. Though the Facial Recognition technology is still faster and safer, sometimes fingerprint authentication comes in handy.
It’s worth mentioning that Apple has filed a patent for In-Display Fingerprint Scanner technology early this year. That clearly indicating Apple really wants to come back with their native TouchID biometric system. In addition, if Apple features the fingerprint technology then it will be slightly better and upgraded than existing ones.
