Samsung has recently launched the flagship smartphones from the company like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8+ as well as the budget variants like the Galaxy J7 Pro as well as the J7 Prime. However, Samsung had launched the Galaxy Grand Prime which as the name suggests comes with a massive screen and the phone was considered to be in the phablet range of smartphones. The Galaxy Grand Prime from Samsung got fairly successful and the phone was launched on T-Mobile network as well in the US. Now, T-Mobile is giving an update to the Galaxy Grand Prime.
It is believed that T-Mobile is not giving software update to the three year old device but the carrier is rolling out a new update which installs the latest security patch to the Galaxy Grand Prime. We have known from the users of the Grand Prime that this update is arriving with the build G530TUVU2AQE3, the update installs the May security patch on the handset. The OTA weighs around 96.56MB in size so downloading it on cellular data shouldn’t be a big problem. However, do note that the update should be downloaded to your phone as quickly as possible as the update brings the May security patch. Also, one thing to note is that the device is still running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version and the device is not likely to get the Android Marshmallow update. The update is known to come with several fixes for the bugs existing in the previous build alongside system and performance improvements.
However, one thing to note is that Google has already released the June security patch which is the latest security patch that has been released for Android. Although, T-Mobile has only rolled out the May security patch and the June security patch from the carrier is still pending.
