MIUI 9 would be officially released shortly and Xiaomi has recently invited users of selected devices to register to become a beta testing of MIUI 9 to share experience and report bugs. The users will be able to test all the latest features of the new user interface. The only catch is that it is going to be an MIUI 9 China ROM and not Global ROM. There would be a few annoying bloatware that China users get.
MIUI 9 is a marked improvement on MIIUI 8 in terms of performance, battery consumption and additional attractive features. There could also be a Picture-in-Picture mode in the firmware.
Features of Xiaomi MUI 9
Quick Reply Notification – You will be able to reply to your notifications without unlocking or opening the apps. This feature is available in iPhone 7.
Multi-Window Support – You have this feature in computer and available in certain high-end smartphones like Samsung Note and Galaxy. The concept of Split-screen would also be available which is a native feature of Android 7.0.
Doze Mode – In this mode, all the unused apps will be killed and you will not need an external battery app to do so. It will increase your battery life, and optimise the use of processor and RAM. It is like hibernation in Greenify app and if you leave your device untouched for a few minutes, it will automatically go into Doze mode.
Data Saver – When you connect to the internet, some background apps always consume data about which you never know. With MIUI 9, you will be able to control the background apps and limit data usage.
Dual Account Feature – In your computer, you may be having more than one user account. The same feature will be introduced in MIUI 9 where you can keep one account as personal and other as a guest account with limited access and permission. As a matter of fact, you can have different apps in different user accounts. This is a great feature that everyone will love.
Furthermore, you will be able to block unwanted callers and rejected calls will not appear in notification log.
