Samsung has always been pretty quick in updating all their phones to the latest security patch as well as updates to the latest Android version. We have already known that Samsung has already updated most of their phones including the latest flagship smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. Samsung has now sent out updates to two of their popular devices. One of them is a mid-range smartphone whereas another phone is high-end offering from the company. These phones are the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime and the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro respectively.
The update is being pushed over-the-air currently. The OTA is arriving with the software versions G532GDDU1AQE3 and C900FDDU1AQE6 for the Galaxy J2 Prime and C9 Pro respectively. This updates are fairly important as the updates have been known to install the June security patch on both the devices. As a recap, June security patch was recently released by Google as a part of its regular security updates initiative for Android.
If you don’t receive the update just yet, there is no need to worry as it might take a while for the update to reach all the handsets. So, you will without any doubt receive the update sooner or later. If you can’t wait, however, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings > About Device > Software Updates. As is the case with all the security patches, you can expect the update to bring fixes for several bugs alongside security and stability improvements to both the devices. Make sure you backup your personal data before you hit the download button. A backup always comes in handy if things go south whenever you are doing the installation of update on your phone. Also, switch to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the update to avoid additional data charges.
