We have all known by now that Samsung has been trying hard to update all of its phones with the latest version of Android as well as the latest version of security patches as released by Google. Samsung has started to release Android 7.1 Nougat for some of its phones but in some areas, Samsung is rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat. The European users of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 have started to receive the Nougat updates on their phones but this is sadly only Android 7.0 Nougat and not Android 7.1 Nougat.
After rolling out Nougat update for the Galaxy Note 5 in the US, Korea and India, now it is time for Europe to taste Nougat. The update is being pushed over the air with the build number N920IDVU3CQD3. Although the update has arrived in Romania, it is being rolled out gradually to other European countries and should take a while before the roll out is complete.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update weighs in at around 1.3GB and brings in many new features such as split-window mode, notification controls, improved menu settings and user interface. The update will also install the March Android security patch on the device. It is advisable to connect to a good Wifi network before downloading the update and since the update weighs around 1.3GB, make sure you have enough free storage. Further, keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent. One thing which is interesting about the update is that along with the Android Nougat update, the phone also jumps to the March security patch which although being a 2-month old update is still relevant to keep your phone secure from security threats. Also make sure that you take a backup of all your necessary files before hitting the update button to keep it safe and secure before the update.
