Panasonic is one company that is looking to make in-roads into the Indian smartphone market, the budget segment in particular. The company on Wednesday added another device to it’s budget line by introducing the Eluga I9. It is a budget offering that is priced at Rs.7,499 and is exclusively available on Flipkart.
Talking about specs, it sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display HD resolution(720×1280 pixels). It is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 SoC, which is a quad core chipset clocked in at 1.2GHz. This is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage that can be expanded upto 128GB via a microSD card.
As for optics, a 13MP rear camera is backed up by a 5MP selfie shooter. While the rear camera has an LED flash next to it, we have a diffused selfie flash upfront. The camera includes several modes such as Panorama, watermark, burst mode etc. A 2500mAh battery fuels the device and the Eluga I9 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Panasonic’s custom skin on top.
Panasonic is trying really hard to make an impact in the budget smartphone game. To recollect, the company had also announced the Eluga C in Taiwan at a price of TWD 6,000 (roughly Rs. 12,900). It sported a bezel-less display and came with a dual camera setup.
The Eluga I9 is available in Blue, Space Grey and Champagne Gold finishes and will go on sale starting Friday.
