OnePlus has released the OnePlus 5 smartphone around the world. After the launch of the OnePlus 5 smartphone, OnePlus announced that the company would conduct an AMA which stands for Ask me Anything on Reddit. As announced, OnePlus conducted the AMA as per schedule and there were lots of questions that were asked to the company and OnePlus did manage to answer most of the questions about the OnePlus 5 as well as the OnePlus 3 & 3T. However, there was one particular question that will be of interest for the users of the OnePlus 3 & 3T. The question was regarding the Android O update for the OnePlus 3 & 3T.
Answering this question, OnePlus assured that the OnePlus 3 and 3T will get the Android O update at the end of this year. Also, it is necessary to understand that the Android O which is the next version of Android expected to be Android 8.0 will be released in late July or early August so the update should take time to come your devices. However, OnePlus is expected to rollout the Android O update to the OnePlus 5 first as the device is the company’s latest flagship phone. Also, there was another question regarding the lack of EIS which stands for Electronic Image Stabilization for the OnePlus 5 when recording 4K videos. Answering this question, OnePlus has promised that the OnePlus 5 will get the EIS for 4K recording very soon and the company could not give EIS currently as it was not ready yet.
Also, talking about the Android O update, the Android O developer preview was announced by Google at the Google I/O 2017. OnePlus is also rumored to release a new device as a successor to the OnePlus 5 which may be called the OnePlus 5T. This goes in line with last year’s launch of OnePlus 3 and then the OnePlus 3T.
