OnePlus announced the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T last year which were the latest flagship phones from the company for 2016. The OnePlus 3 and later the OnePlus 3T became the best phones of 2016 and the company is releasing a new OnePlus device this year which will be the OnePlus 5. Now, the company has released a new update released in the beta channel for the OnePlus 3/T.
This update is in form of the OxygenOS update which comes with various performance improvements. A new update is now rolling out to the OnePlus flagships. The update installs OyxgenOS Open Beta 17 and Open Beta 8 for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T respectively. This update not only spruces up the performance of your smartphone but also includes a host of new features.
New features include, but are not limited to, Ambient Display 2.0, lifting up your device to turn the screen on, quick sharing from the OnePlus Camera app and the new OnePlus font. The update also brushes up UI on the Gallery, Recorder, Weather and File Manager apps in addition to other under-the-hood UI enhancements.
Third-party apps are expected to have much shorter launch times and background and foreground processes have also been optimized for a better user experience. The setup wizard now follows the design of the latest version of Nougat. Importing contacts is now a lot more easier with this update too. While making calls, the dialer now automatically adds country codes to the number.
The update also installs the latest security patch which is for the month of May. As usual, the update takes a week or two to fully roll out. So if you haven’t received the update notification already, you may need to wait a bit or you can try checking manually in Settings » About » Software update. Make sure to update your phone to this latest beta as soon as possible.
