OnePlus has recently released the OnePlus 5 which is the latest flagship smartphone from the company. The OnePlus 5 should also be the only smartphone from the company for this year if the company decides not to release the OnePlus 5T same as the OnePlus 3T last year. The company also released the second-ever smartphone from the company, the OnePlus 2 two years back and the smartphone has not been a huge hit as some of the other smartphones in its lineup have been. The OnePlus 2, therefore, has not been getting regular updates to the phone and the company has also announced that the phone will not be getting any more major updates in its lifetime.
This stance from OnePlus has caused a huge backlash among its fans and the owners of the OnePlus 2. Now, the company has released an update to the OxygenOS with version 3.5.9. This update doesn’t bring Nougat to the OnePlus 2. However, this update primarily fixes VoLTE issue in OnePlus 2 and brings in many under-the-hood improvements. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update. As far as the Android version is concerned, the OnePlus 2 is still on Android Marshmallow officially and the smartphone will remain on the same version as well.
However, if you want to upgrade to the Android Nougat or even, Android O version then you can do so by downloading and installing any custom ROM on your OnePlus 2. Also, as far as the update is concerned, the smartphone will receive the OTA update soon as the company has already released the update. But, your phone may get the update in the coming days so you should keep checking for the updates in the settings page and going to the check for updates section. Also, make sure to download the update as soon as possible to your phone.
