It seems HMD Global is apparently planning to indeed launch the recently unveiled in China, Nokia X7 as the Nokia 8.1 for the international market. The Nokia 8.1 was spotted on Google’s official ARCore supported devices list, which made the people go in a frenzy as there have been no leaks regarding the device.
The Nokia X7 was released by HMD Global in China last month and met unanimous praises for its design and features, which really stood out for their price. It was indeed that the device was going to be having an international launch, however so far there had been no indication from the company. Also, like the previously released Nokia X5 and Nokia X6, it was expected that the X7 would come under the branding of Nokia 7.1 plus for the international market. However, it seems HMD Global has another plan up their sleeve, as the device may come bearing the moniker of the Nokia 8.1 for the international market.
If the leaked information is correct, then the 8.1 is expected to make its landing in India on the 28th of this month for a price of Rs. 23,999 for the base version.
The Nokia 8.1 is expected to come with Android One branding with Android 9.0 Pie on board. The device may carry the newly unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core SoC on- board and come in storage/ memory versions of 128/6GB, 64/6GB and 64/4GB. The device carries Zeiss optics powered dual camera setup on the back and a 6.18- inch FullHD+ notched display which surprisingly is HDR10 compatible, making it possible the cheapest HDR10 compatible device available in the Indian market.
A 20MP camera graces the front notch of the device and comes with the now- trendy AI based camera app also.
Apart from that, the device has USB- C, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM with dual VoLTE, 3,500 mAh battery.
