Its been just a few days since the June Security Patch has been released by Google and HMD Global, keeping up with its past habits, has already made the patch available for the Nokia 6 and the Nokia 5.
For the Nokia 6, the update is 148.3 MB in size and can be downloaded over a Wi-Fi connection only.
For the Nokia 5, the update is 141.9 MB in size and is like the Nokia 6, downloadable over a Wi-Fi only.
To recall, the Nokia 6 and the Nokia 5 were released by HMD Global as the first batch of Nokia smartphones, after HMD Global got the right to the Nokia name. These devices were released at the MWC’ 2017 and were met with critical and commercial success. Both the devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is an octa-core processor.
The Nokia 6 was available in a storage/ memory combination of 3GB/ 32GB and 4GB/ 64GB while for the Nokia 5, the combination was 2GB/ 16GB and 3GB/ 32GB.
The Nokia 6 featured a 5.5- inch Full HD (1920X 1080) display while the Nokia 5 featured a 5.2- inch HD (1080x 720) display.
These devices were released with Android 7.1 Nougat onboard and came with Google Assistant out of the box, making them the only devices apart from the original Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL and the LLG G6 to sport this feature, at the time of their launch

Recently, HMD Global has announced that the Nokia 6 and the Nokia 5 would be getting an upgrade to the Android P for sure, thereby fulfilling their initial commitment of providing two years’ worth of OS upgrades to their devices.
The update would be available to download as an OTA one and like always, the rollout would happen in phases.
