Nokia 2.1, a budget smartphone in the new lineup of Android Go segment in the Nokia brand of smartphones, is getting the Android 9 Pie update officially. The house of Nokia, HMD Global has released the Android Pie OTA update for its Android Go edition phone. While the Nokia 2.1 seems to be the first Android Go phone which is getting the Pie update. The device was introduced back in 2018 and now the Nokia 2.1 Android 9 Pie update started rolling out via batches.
The OTA update will be rolled out within a few days globally. So, you need to wait for the OTA notification. Otherwise, you can also check for the update manually from Settings > About Phone > System updates. The Android Go edition smartphones are backed by Google just like the Android One platform. So, the lower specs devices can also run the latest Android updates smoothly without any storage or lagging issue.

However, the rest of the budget and mid-range Nokia smartphones also come with Android One platform. That’s why Nokia devices receive major Android updates quite fast and easily.
However, there is no specific details or changelog revealed yet by the company. We can rely on Nokia updates. It’s expected to receive the Android 9 Pie update with Digital Wellbeing, Adaptive Battery and Brightness, recent UI, notification bar, swipe gesture and more.

Nokia 2 (2018) also known as Nokia 2.1 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chip, coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The storage can be expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The device is packed with a 4,000 mAh battery.
