Google has been releasing the monthly security patches to all the Pixel as well as eligible Nexus devices around from the last two years in order to make the Android OS more secure for the users all over the world. Google released the June security patch last month on June 5 and the company has now released the latest security patch for the month of July. The July security patch, as always, has been released by Google in the first week of July as is the case with all the security patches released so far.
Talking about the security patch, the last year’s Pixel, as well as Pixel XL and the Nexus 6p as well as Nexus 5x, will get the July security patch. Apart from the above-mentioned devices, the Pixel C tablet, the Nexus 6 as well as Nexus 9 tablet will also get the July security patch. July security patch resolves 43 issues in the security patch dated 2017-07-01 and 96 in the 2017-07-05 one. However, do note that the June security patch also fixed several big issues in the Pixel and Pixel XL whereas July update primarily focuses on the security fixes. As far as the update to the devices is concerned, the July security patch should bring more fluidity to your device with the latest update.
The security patches have been rolled out by Google to all the eligible devices which include Pixel as well as Nexus devices in the form of an OTA update. However, if you have not received the update on your phone then you will receive the same in the coming days as the rollout of the OTA takes some time to reach all of the devices. The OTA should be downloaded on your device in a stable connection and installed as soon as possible to get the latest July security patch.
