Huawei has released the Honor 8 smartphone last year in U.S as well as other countries with a dual-rear camera setup which is the first smartphone to feature dual cameras from the company. We have also known that the Honor 9 is also just around the corner and the company is preparing to release the phone as soon as possible. Before that though, Huawei has released an update to the Honor 8 smartphone in U.S. A new OTA update is hitting the last year’s flagship device from Huawei, the Honor 8 in the US. The update brings in April security patch and a bunch of system improvements.
The update that goes by the build number B385, is based on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI version 5.0. It weighs around 815MB, which suggests it will bring many improvements and bug fixes. Although currently, we are yet to find the full changelog, we can assure you that the update fixes the bug where it says microphone is already in use while using Google Assistant, Camera and Voice Recorder apps.
As always is the case with all the updates releasing for phones, It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and since the update weighs around 815MB, make sure you have enough free storage. Further, keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent. Do note that this update is released as an OTA which means it is an over-the-air update, in case you have not received the update yet then you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
