Huawei has always been one of the device manufacturers who can be banked upon for rolling out the latest updates to some of their devices as soon as any major version of Android has been released although it releases their smartphones with a custom skin on top of Android. This makes the achievement of rolling out the updates this early even better and Huawei is at it again as the manufacturer has once again started to roll out the latest update of Android 8.0 Oreo to two of their devices which have been released in the recent times.
Talking about the update, Huawei has started to roll out the beta test for their EMUI skin of Android which has been upgraded to EMUI 8.0 which means that it is based on Android 8.0 Oreo which also turns out to be the latest version of Android. Talking about the devices that are eligible for the update, Huawei has mentioned that the Honor 9 and the Honor 8 Pro which have been released in the Honor series from Huawei will get to test the beta update and then it will be rolled out to the other devices in the coming days or months.
Looking at the updates that have been received on some of the Honor 9 and the Honor 8 Pro devices, we can confirm that the Honor 9 Oreo beta update is STF-AL10 8.0.0.315(C00), while the firmware for the Honor V9/Honor 8 Pro is DUK-AL20 8.0.0.315(C00). This means that if you receive notification for downloading this firmware then you can be sure that this is the Android 8.0 Oreo beta test update for your device. However, you should also note that this is a beta test so proceed with caution as this update can be unstable and should not be used on your daily driver as it may cause some problems in your day-to-day tasks.
