Huawei has teased the launch date of the newest smartphone in the Honor series from the company. This smartphone is the Honor 9 after the company launched the Huawei Honor 8 last year. The company has revealed a poster which says that the Huawei Honor 9 will be launched on June 12. The release date comes as contrary to the rumored dates of June 20th and June 27th, at an event to be held in China at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center also known as the Shanghai Aquatic Sports Center.
Alongside Honor 9, we would also see Huawei releasing its waterproof Honor Band 3. Interestingly, last year too, Huawei released its fitness tracker band, Honor Band A1, alongside Honor 8, which is the predecessor of Honor 9.
Apparently, the image posted by the Weibo user suggests that the band would be waterproof. Plus, the second image that confirms the launch date also suggests the dual camera for Honor 9. However, we are not sure whether both the front and rear camera will be fortunate to earn this hallmark. We say this because recently a report suggested that Honor 9 might include dual camera on both front and rear.
Now if we take a look at the rumored specifications of the Honor 9, the device is expected to feature rear dual camera of 20MP+12MP and if there is a single camera on the front side, it would be 8MP. Further, the Honor 9 will flaunt a 5.15-inch TFT Full HD display in addition to the rumored curved display. Plus, it will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. The Honor 9 is expected to be priced around CNY 3,000 (approximately USD 440) and will come in three variants with different combinations of 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. Stay tuned for the launch of Huawei Honor 9 on June 12 as we know more about the device.
