Huawei To Introduce Its First 5G Smartphone At MWC 2019
At the launch of Kirin 980 SoC, Huawei already explained that the Kirin 980 chipset could be used to make a 5G smartphone with the networking data chip Balong 5000. Now the leaks are coming out that Huawei’s chip maker HiSilicon has been reportedly invested CNY200 million for the R&D process and could come up with the Kirin 990 SoC. The same Balong 5000 modem can be used for the upcoming mobile chipset as an individual.
However, Qualcomm can introduce their product quite faster in early 2019 but Huawei could take a little bit of time up to the third quarter of next year. Currently, Huawei is reportedly active in 5G technology in Europe countries. At the Huawei Innovation Day event held by Huawei’s VC Hu Houkun mentioned that the company is interested to invest in the development of the European market.
In this year, Huawei has introduced Mate 20 series smartphones with some cool features like wireless reverse charging, NM memory card design, nano-SIM card slot, camera improvements and more. So we have to wait for the next year and 2019 will be full of new developments in technology and mobile industry.
