HTC has recently released the U11 smartphone which is also the flagship smartphone from the company for this year. The HTC U11 is also the second premium smartphone in the U series of smartphones from the company. The first smartphone from the HTC U series is the HTC U Ultra. As far as the HTC U11 is concerned, the device came out with exceptional specifications which are expected from a flagship device from HTC. The smartphone, on top of that, also has the best camera smartphone and the smartphone has a rating of 90 on DxOMark which is a website for rating cameras on smartphones.
Now, the HTC U11 was first launched with Bluetooth 4.2. However, the teardown of the device showed that the HTC U11 had Bluetooth 5.0 hardware but the functionality was not enabled on the smartphone. Now, we have received reports that the HTC U11 will now get the Bluetooth 5.0 on the devices. This will come to the device as a software update which will come later this year. The software update will enable the already present hardware on the device. The reports of the software update have been confirmed by the listing on FCC. According to FCC filing, HTC plans to “enable Bluetooth 5.0 by software without any hardware change.”
After the Bluetooth 5.0 gets activated on HTC U11, some features will get enhanced such as longer connectivity range and higher transmission bandwidth. The battery life will also get longer with lower power usage. Talking about the update, the HTC U11’s update is expected to roll out sooner as the Bluetooth 5.0 update is a major step forward in the smartphone and should be enabled as soon as possible. It is also known that the company has taken all the necessary steps for the update so the update may be rolled out sooner than expected.
