There is good news for Honor 8 Pro users. The latest Lineage OS 14.1 is up for download. It is a custom ROM and it is a highly demanded one especially after the demise of popular CyanogenMod ROM. As a matter of fact, Lineage OS 14.1 is replacing CyanogenMod on all devices that had it installed.
Already, it has been rolled out on various devices and recently, the ROM is up for grabs for the Honor 8 Pro users. Lineage OS 14.1 literally brings the features of Android 7.0 Nougat with it. You will get features like multitasking, split screen, live display, and latest security patches and various preinstalled apps. Pre-Requirements
- You need to take a complete backup of your device data because everything will be wiped out in the process.
- Make sure you Honor 8 Pro has at least 60% of battery charge.
- Your Honor 8 Pro must be rooted. TWRP must also be installed on your device.

Steps To Install Lineage OS 14.1 On Honor 8 Pro
Step 1. Download and install a custom recovery if you have not already. You cannot proceed without a custom recovery on your device.
Step 2. Boot into Recovery mode and then create a Nandroid backup as a safety measure. (Check Pre-Requirement Section)
Step 3. Now, you need to do a Factory Reset. Go to Wipe and then to Advanced Wipe and select Wipe Cache, System, Dalvik Cache, Vendor and Data and confirm by swiping.
Step 4. If you are flashing LineageOS for the first time ever, you need to download Vendor.zip and extract on internal storage.
Step 5. Start TWRP terminal and type the following.
dd if=/internal_sd/vendor.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/vendor
Step 6. Download Lineage OS 14.1 Zip file and go to Install and select the ROM Zip file and swipe to install it.
Step 7. It is time to flash your device with GApps Zip file as Google apps do not come pre-installed. Download and flash in the same way as above.
Step 8. Go for Wipe Cache and Dalvik cache this time and reboot your device and start enjoying your new custom ROM.

You should not try and install this Lineage OS 14.1 on any other devices of Honor because it is only meant for Honor 8 Pro. There are a few bugs reported recently like encryption problem and rear video camera recording problem. You should use OpenCamera for video recording and set FPS to 15.
