It is safe to say that bezel-less displays were a crucial part of 2017 and this year, the trend is making its way to budget smartphones as well. Recently, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5 Plus with an 18:9 display in India and now Honor has launched the Honor 9 Lite with a tall display.
Another major selling point for this phone is the quad-camera setup with dual lenses on either side of the device. The Honor 9 Lite will be a Flipkart exclusive and will be available from January 21.
Talking specs, the Honor 9 Lite comes with 5.65-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD Plus resolution due to the slimed down bezels. It is powered by the in-house Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC, an octa-core SoC coupled with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of on-board storage.
As for optics, Huawei has done something special this time around. We get a pair of camera lenses on the front and the rear, which is not something we find on budget devices. A 13MP primary camera is backed up by a 2MP lens on both sides and we get additional features like Phase Detection autofocus for the rear cameras.
The smartphone is fuelled by a somewhat small 3000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo based on EMUI 8.0. The 3GB/32GB variant of the Honor 9 Lite is priced at Rs.10,999 while the 4GB/64GB variant costs Rs.14,999.
