HMD Global, which is the company who has the manufacturing and selling rights of the Nokia smartphone has announced that Nokia’s Android-powered smartphones, the Nokia 3,5 & 6 will be launching on June 13. This has been confirmed by the company via a press invite which the company has sent out to various media outlets. The Nokia 3,5 & 6 are the latest smartphones from Nokia and will be the first smartphones from the company to be powered by Android. Earlier, Nokia sold smartphones with Windows Phone OS pre-installed on their phones. However, this decision was taken in response to the growing popularity of Android OS and the decline in popularity of Windows Phone OS.
HMD Global and Nokia have sent out the invite which says “Let’s join hands and welcome a new era of Nokia smartphones” and that the event will be held on June 13, 2017. The new era of Nokia smartphones points to the fact that these smartphones will be the first from the company to be powered by Android and also the fact that Nokia has made a comeback in smartphone industry after 7 long years. Among the Nokia smartphones to be launched at the event, the Nokia 6 would be the top-end smartphone among the three with the Nokia 3 being a budget offering from the company.
As far as the information regarding the pricing of the Nokia smartphones is concerned, NokiaPowerUser, who keeps track of all the happenings about Nokia has leaked some information about the expected price of the phone. NokiaPowerUser says that the Nokia 6 which is the highest-end smartphone of the three smartphones will be priced at approximately Rs. 16,000 whereas the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 5 will cost around Rs. 9,000 and Rs. 12,000 respectively.
