Samsung has just recently launched the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8+ all around the world and the smartphones have been available for purchase. We have also known that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8+ are selling twice as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. We have also known that Samsung is also sending out updates to their devices much faster than before now and that is the case with this update as well. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8+ are receiving an update in the US which brings to the device the latest security patch from Google. Both the Samsung phones are getting the May security patch along with some improvements to Bixby.
Talking more about the update, The updates are arriving as software versions G950USQU1AQEFand G955USQU1AQEF for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus respectively. In addition to bringing you the limited but new features, the update also includes various under-the-hood performance and stability improvements. Bugs and issues from the previous builds are also ironed out with this update. Samsung has also included stability improvements for the SD card and has also updated the Bixby app, which should now bring you more options.
If you haven’t received the update notification yet, you can try checking manually in Settings » Software update. Samsung usually takes a couple of days to roll out an OTA update completely. Before updating, backup all of your important data to your PC and ensure that your device has sufficient charge too. The OTA update weighs around 375MB so download over WiFi to save additional data charges from your carrier. Also, make sure that you have connected your device to a stable WiFi connection as well as make sure to charge your device above 50% battery to have a safe installation of the update.
