BlackBerry DTEK50 is getting the much-awaited June security patch update which improves the security of the device as well as brings various improvements to the device in terms of stability. To recall, the DTEK50 from BlackBerry was the first smartphone that marked the comeback from the company after the company lost its market share to the likes of Android phones as well as iPhones. Later, the company adopted Android as the main operating system on all their smartphones. Also, the smartphone has been available in the US from AT&T carrier and the carrier has been sending out regular updates to the smartphone as well. One thing to note here is that BlackBerry has always relied upon the security of its device.
Now, the carrier AT&T is also going by the motto of the company and have now released the June security patch update to the DTEK50 to the phones on its network similar to the BlackBerry phones which received the update much earlier. The new firmware update arrives as build AAM312. In all probability, the update includes regular bug fixes and system improvements, other than the monthly security patch. One notable thing is that the update is not a major one and the update only installs the June security patch to the device. However, we have seen many attacks that have been conducted on the Android smartphones and this is due to the lower security that the Android OS has compared to the other operating system thus Google has started to release the security patches.
Now, if you are waiting to receive the update to your device then the update is rolled out by the US carrier as an OTA which means that your device should automatically receive the update to your device. Make sure to update your smartphone with the OTA quickly.
