It is a well-known fact that the entire mobile industry takes inspiration from Apple. After Apple introduced dual cameras in their device, the entire industry shifted their attention towards it, with dual camera setup first restricted to flagship devices and eventually making their way in almost all the devices, except the niche budget category. The entire industry copied Apple with the notch, some even went to such great length claiming that they had that idea prior to Apple. A similar thing happened when Apple released Animoji’s with the last year’s iPhone. Manufacturers like Nokia, Huawei have taken that idea and presented them for their customers also.
Samsung is also one such manufacturer, the company released their own take on Animoji, the AR Emoji with the Samsung Galaxy S9. The feature enabled one to create a personalized emoji after scanning their face. Samsung has now started to begin making the feature available to the mid-range devices also, with the Samsung Galaxy J8 getting an update enabling the same, a few days after it was rolled out for the Samsung J7 Duo.
The update for the Samsung Galaxy J8 carries the build number J810GDDU2ARJ4, and brings some new features and improvements also, apart from the AR Emoji. With the update, the J8 is gaining support for dual- SIM VoLTE also, a much-needed feature when almost every carrier is shifting to VoLTE based network.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 was released earlier this year and features an upper budget class octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC on- board which was paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device has a dual camera set up at the back with the second lens being a 5MP depth sensor. The company even provided a 16MP front camera with LED flash for those Snapchat selfies.
