The new Nokia 5.1 Plus was launched in India and Taiwan as a global edition of Nokia X5 recently. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Android One platform that will provide frequent and faster updates of Android and security patch update for at least two years. The HMD Global already announced the Android Pie update will release for all the Nokia devices. So, as promised the Nokia 5.1 Plus device will get the Android 9 Pie update by the end of this year.
Nokia 5.1 Plus – Soon Get Android Pie Update
The Chief Product Officer of Nokia, Juho Sarvikas, mentioned that the device will receive the update before the end of 2018. He also said, “I would be surprised if it does not”.
Currently, the Android Pie update rolling out to all Nokia 7 Plus and beta to Nokia 6.1 Plus devices. The update will bring whole new redesigned UI, adaptive battery and brightness, Android dashboard, recent UI, system improvements, Digital Wellbeing dashboard and more.
The HMD Global has a very good update record to their Nokia devices. So, hopefully, the Nokia 5.1 Plus device will get the update soon. We have to wait for the official announcement.
