HMD Global has scheduled an event on the 4th of October where they’re going to announce the next bunch of Nokia branded smartphones. So far, it was assumed that the event would see the unveiling of the long-awaited Nokia Pheonix or the Nokia 7.1 Plus.
However, the recent leaks have pointed out that HMD Global may, in fact, be having two iterations of the Nokia 7.1 ready for the event.
The leaks revealed devices with a notch and without a notch which lead to many believing that in fact, we may see the launch of two devices that day. The latest rumors point to the fact that the notched one might me the Nokia 7.1 Plus, which would release in China as the Nokia X7 while the Nokia 7.1 would be a notch- less one and the eventual successor to the Nokia 7 Plus.
The Nokia 7.1 is expected to carry an octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC and come with 4GB of memory and 64GB of storage. It is expected to arrive for the slightly reduced price than the Nokia 7 Plus and would be arriving in blue and steel color. Though a black color might also be there.
A vertically aligned dual camera setup is rumored at the back with both the lenses Carl Zeiss powered.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus on the other hand recently made a visit to the TENAA certification agency which revealed most of the device’s specifications.
It is expected to arrive in copper, silver and black color. The device may sport a look similar to other devices from the Nokia X series (the Nokia X5 and the X6), indicating the presence of a small notch on the front, and vertically aligned dual cameras and flash at the back with a fingerprint sensor underneath them. Similar to the other two devices, the Nokia 7.1 Plus may also carry a layer of glass on the back, though don’t expect any support for wireless charging though.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus may arrive in 4GB and 6GB memory versions. A 6.18- inch FullHD+ display may be gracing the front of the device. The storage is going to be 64GB or 128GB in the device. The Nokia 7.1 Plus would be having a 20MP front snapper while a 13MP and 12MP camera set up at the back. The battery capacity of the device is revealed to be 3,400 mAh.
