Samsung has finally started rolling out the much-awaited Galaxy S8/S8 Plus official Android 8.0 Oreo OTA update to the users who weren’t part of the beta program.Previously, the official oreo update was available only for the beta users.
The update is being rolled out as an OTA (over-the-air) in many regions.According to sammobile, the update is currently available in Germany, India, Turkey, Norway, the UAE, and Belgium. If you are not from any of these countries then you have to wait for little more.We think the update will reach other countries within a week.
If you have android 7.0 nougat and your device’s bootloader is locked, then you will get this Oreo update. You can manually check for the update, open the phone’s settings, tap Software update > Download updates manually.
The firmware version is G950/G955-FXXU1CRAP as the beta tester build. The Galaxy S8 Plus’s update is around 1.3GB in size so a stable internet connection is recommended. This new update brings the latest February 2018 security patch update to the Galaxy S8 and S8 plus.If you are current on Nougat then you should update to this latest update as it will bring the latest android patch to your device with all the new and awesome Android Oreo features.
