Redmi has teased the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones for a while now. Today, on May 28, at an event in China, Xiaomi has finally announced its latest Redmi series handsets. The Redmi K20 comes with a Snapdragon 730 SoC as a mid-range budget device. While the Redmi K20 Pro is the Xioami’s first Snapdragon 855-powered flagship device this year. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer also announced a limited of Redmi K20 Pro Avengers Edition variant with a custom design.
Redmi K20 Pro Specifications and Features
The Redmi K20 Pro sports a 7th generation in-display fingerprint sensor and the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection at both the front and rear side. The phone has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 91.9% screen-to-body ratio. The Snapdragon 855 SoC offers an octa-core chipset based on the 7nm process coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU and the Game Turbo 2.0 mode. It comes in 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. The handset runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.
While the K20 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup of a 48MP (f/1.7), a 13MP (f/2.4), and an 8MP telephoto (f/2.4) sensor. The device features PDAF, 2x optical zoom, 2K video recording @60fps, a dual-LED flash, HDR, etc. The front comes with a 20MP (f/2.0) pop-up camera module with a motorized mechanism.
The device has connectivity features like 4G LTE, dual Nano-SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Additionally, the smartphone also comes with Hi-Res Audio and DC Dimming features. It has a bigger 4,000 mAh battery with the 27W fast charging support.
Redmi K20 Pro Price
The K20 Pro price starts at RMB 2,499 for the 6GB + 64GB variant, while the 6GB + 128GB model costs RMB 2,599. Whereas, the 8GB + 128GB priced at RMB 2,799 and 8GB + 256GB model costs RMB 2,999 respectively. The smartphone is currently launched only in China and will go for sale in a few days. There is no information about the launch or price tag in India yet.
